Testing Your Vegetarian IQ: Myths and Facts

Every day we make choices about our diet. But given the large number of dietary regimens available, how can we make the best choices for our diet? Dr. Fior will explore various aspects of the vegetarian diet using an interactive question and answer format. Find out what your vegetarian I.Q. is. Dr. Fior is a physician and homeopath who has spent the last 20 years treating patients with chronic diseases with the best that conventional and alternative medicine has to offer. He has been a lacto vegetarian and practicing meditation for over 20 years.

Dr. Saraswati Sukumar is director of the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center and a professor of oncology and pathology at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. The center has received awards of excellence from the Department of Defense, the National Cancer Institute, and the AVON Breast Cancer Foundation. She has authored more than 120 publications and is a scientific advisory board member of the Susan G Komen Foundation (Race for the Cure). Dr. Indra Taneja has dealt with childhood health issues for decades. She graduated from Lady Hardinge Medical Collage, New Delhi, India and completed her pediatrics residency and chief residency at University Hospital New Jersey Medical School. She has served as pediatric director for the Maternal-Infant Care Program there and has been one of the key members of the primary care out-patient setting, teaching and training medical students and residents. Dr. Taneja’s clinical, educational, and research have been centered on preventative care initiatives that promote equity in healthcare for children born into adverse socioeconomic or environmental circumstances.

As a physician who has been meditating for over twenty-five years, Dr. Raider has both a personal and a professional interest in meditation and its relationship to health. He has lectured extensively in the United States and Canada on the healing power of meditation. Dr. Raider has maintained a private practice in family medicine and geriatrics since 1982, and coordinated the geriatric teaching program at Middlesex Hospital in Connecticut since 1986. At the headquarters for the United Nations in New York City, Dr. Taneja has been responsible for the coordination and management of facilities for UN-related properties worldwide. Dr. Duggal Stephens has traveled extensively while pursuing medicine to research different types of health care available such as homeopathy, Ayurvedic medicine and acupuncture, and has begun to focus on an integrative approach to medicine.
